Background
In the 2003-04 academic year, Ball State University received lots of negative publicity. A campus police officer shot and killed an intoxicated student, whom the officer believed to be hostile. A few months later, three Muncie adolescents robbed and murdered an intoxicated Ball State student who had just given them a ride in his car. These two seperate incidents created controversy that stayed with the college community until the end of the academic year.
Ball State officials, unwilling to take any more chances, cracked down on underaged drinking. BSU launched its infamous "Police Yourself" campaign. Less than a week later, a de-facto sting by campus police at a weekend fraternity house party led to 87 citations for minor consumption. The student body met this incident with ironic allegations of rights violations. The whole situation blew out of control. BSU even held an open forum. (The homicidal-looking kid in the middle is me).
After the failure of "Police Yourself," BSU began its next anti-alcohol program: informational bombardment. A series of posters with the slogan "Your Choices, Your Future" found its way onto the walls of every floor of evry residence hall on campus.
And So
After many months of seeing these stupid posters, I got tired of the half truths and highly biased opinions. Enter Adobe Photoshop.
